LA Times:  “The most significant criminal prosecution the U.S. has ever filed against an alleged corporate polluter” involves a Maryland-based chemical company.

Fraud With Peril:  US Attorney for the District of Maryland gets jail time.  In United States v. Robert Simmons, US Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein, along with co-counsel, obtained a guilty verdict and convinced the District Court to sentence the defendant to a term of confinement for 180 months in a felon-in-possession case.  We don’t know yet if Mr. Rosenstein, a Bush appointee, will still be the US Attorney when Mr. Simmons is released.  He is well-respected, after all, and now perhaps even a little bit feared.
